DOC statute of limitation
Article 553 DOC: the warranty action must be filed within one year of discovering the defect. Beyond that, recourse is lost.
2 years
VEFA biennial guarantee
Law 44-00: for new VEFA purchases, the developer is liable for separable equipment (boilers, plumbing, sanitary fittings) for 2 years post-delivery.
10 years
VEFA decennial guarantee
Article 769 DOC: developer, architect and contractor are liable for 10 years for defects affecting structural soundness or rendering the property unfit for purpose.
